Phenomenal Woman

Maya Angelou wrote a poem called Phenomenal Woman which Amy Sky set to music. It is a beautiful poem and I thought it would be nice to share for Mother’s Day. I didn’t know it was set to music and was amazed at how beautiful the poem was after being rendered to music. I like it when lyrics are poetry and when poetry is lyrics. My Pretty Rose Tree

 A flower was offered to me:
Such a flower as May never bore.
But I said “I’ve a Pretty Rose-tree”,
And I passed the sweet flower o’er.

 Then I went to my Pretty Rose-tree:
To tend her by day and by night.
But my Rose turn’d away with jealousy:
And her thorns were my only delight.
